by Bustop TV News

The Tandi community in Makoni District was left stunned this week after a dog led villagers to the decomposed remains of an 80-year-old man who had been missing for over two months.

The shocking discovery occurred at Sirewo Village when 84-year-old Robert Kanyuchi was at his homestead and his dog returned carrying what appeared to be a decomposing human head. Moments later, the same dog brought back another human bone.

Kanyuchi immediately alerted the family of Akim Nyanga Murembeni, who had been missing since June 16, 2025. Upon inspection, the family positively identified the remains as those of their missing relative.

Villagers subsequently tracked the dog’s footprints, which led them to more human remains scattered nearby. The remains were reportedly in an advanced state of decomposition.

Police were called to the scene and the body parts were collected and transported to Rusape General Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

The cause of Murembeni’s death has not yet been determined, and authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the case.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, with residents expressing concern over the unusual nature of the discovery and the mystery surrounding Murembeni’s disappearance and death.

Police have not ruled out foul play, pending the results of the post-mortem and further investigations.
