In an act of lust and lack of trust a Silobela man was caught raping his girlfriend’s daughter aged 12.
The NPA said sometime in May 2025, the offender was left with the victim while the mother went to search for a network to call a relative.
She was left in the company of her two other siblings, aged nine and four.
“He took advantage of her absence and ordered the younger siblings to leave the house.
“He threatened to beat them if they failed to comply.
“Thereafter he ordered the the victim to get into the bedroom where he raped her,” said NPA.
Fortunately, the mother thwarted the s@xual assault after she returned unannounced.
“He quickly tried to dress up to conceal the offence, but the victim narrated the ordeal to her mother.
“A police report was made leading to his arrest,” said NPA.
The offender was brought before a Kwekwe Regional Court facing rape charges.
He was convicted and sentenced to 15 years imprisonment.
