A disturbing incident unfolded in Marlborough yesterday morning when a primary school student was attacked by dogs on his way to school.
The victim, identified as Denzil, suffered serious injuries, including bites to the neck, after being mauled by two Boerbulls and a Rottweiler that escaped from their owner’s property.

Denzil was initially treated at Arundel Hospital before being transferred to Harare Hospital due to the severity of his injuries.

The incident has sparked concern among community members, who are eagerly awaiting the ruling of Harare regional magistrate Mrs. Marehwanazvo Gofa in a related case involving a pit bull attack in Bluffhill. The magistrate’s decision is expected to set a precedent for cases involving negligent dog owners.
In response to the attack, authorities, including the SPCA and Council Development Control, have taken action, rounding up stray dogs in Ward 41 and working to hold dog owners accountable.
The community is rallying around the case, emphasizing the need for stricter measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
