A 19-year-old man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after attempting to rape his 67-year-old employer while she was bathing.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), the teenager appeared before the Rusape Magistrates’ Court, where he was convicted and sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment for attempted rape.
“The incident occurred on 14 December 2025 at around 1800 hours,” said the NPA. “The offender, who was employed as a domestic worker by the victim, followed her into the bathroom while she was bathing, covered her eyes with one hand, and attempted to rape her.”
Court records state that the victim resisted and threatened to assault him, prompting the offender to flee the scene.
“The matter was later reported to the police by the victim’s nephew, leading to the arrest of the offender,” the NPA said.
