Mukuru, a leading financial services provider in Africa, has once again been named one of the world’s top 100 cross-border payments companies by FXC Intelligence.

This marks the sixth year in a row that Mukuru has earned this global recognition.

The FXC Intelligence list highlights companies that are transforming international money transfers and digital finance. Mukuru’s inclusion shows the important role it plays in helping millions of Africans access global financial services through safe, affordable, and easy-to-use payment solutions.

Andy Jury, CEO of Mukuru, says the recognition confirms the company’s mission: “Being on this list for six years shows the value we bring to people and businesses across Africa. We are proud to help bridge the gap between formal and informal economies.”

Mukuru serves over 17 million customers across Africa, Europe, and Asia. It offers digital wallets and payment cards in countries like South Africa, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Botswana, and Zambia. These tools make it easier for users to send, receive, and manage money from anywhere, even in remote areas.

Beyond personal payments, Mukuru also supports businesses through platforms like MPAY and the Enterprise Payment Platform (EPP). These services help manage payroll, e-commerce transactions, and aid distribution efficiently.

In Zimbabwe, Mukuru recently received a special banking license from the Reserve Bank, allowing it to offer more financial services to underserved groups such as women, rural communities, and young people.

“This is more than an award,” said Jury. “It’s a reminder to keep growing and making financial services accessible for everyone.”

Mukuru continues to be recognised for its innovation and impact. It was also named a Top Employer in South Africa and won multiple awards for customer service and fintech innovation.
