A 23-year-old Nyanga man, who showed a sense of cruelty, after r*ping a deaf and dumb woman will live in jail for the next 18 years.
The National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPA), said the offender committed the rape case in October 2024.
“The accused and the victim lived in the same home, although they were not related.
On 19 October 2024 (time not give), the offender entered the victim’s room.
He then removed the victim’s underwear and proceeded to rape her.
The offender exploited the fact that the victim is deaf and dumb. The following morning, another resident, the victim crying. The victim narrated using sign language that the offender had r*ped her during the night,” said NPA.
NPA said the husband’s neighbour was informed about the matter and a police report was made leading to the arrest of the offender.
