A Mberengwa woman ‘s body was found in a decomposing state after she was killed by two men who accused her of stealing USD 500.
The duo has since been arrested in connection with a case of murder.
National Police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the development saying the woman had gone for a sleepover with the accused.
“The ZRP is investigating a case of murder which occured at village 4, Dunning farm, Mberengwa where two suspects, Manyaya Muvhecha and Shepherd Mhundonga allegedly assaulted Viola Hove(20) on allegations of theft of USD 500.
“The two suspects kidnapped the victim along with her friend on 10 May 2025, accusing the victim of stealing of stealing the money after they had hired the two for a sleepover,” said Commissioner Nyathi.
He said a police report was made by her sister leading to the duos arrest.
“On 15 May 2025, the victim’s reported the murder and led the police to the scene. The body was found in a decomposing state.”
