On 25 December 2025, the now-deceased visited his girlfriend at her home in Tsvingwe, Penhalonga, where she allegedly told him that she was ending the relationship, citing concerns over his persistent alcohol abuse.
This did not sit well with him, and he proceeded to Mutare’s Central Business District. He later returned to the girl’s residence heavily intoxicated.
Upon arrival, he confessed that he had taken poison because he could not handle the heartbreak. He was rushed to Old Mutare Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
