This eight-year initiative (2022–2030) is funded by Global Affairs Canada and aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The main goal is to help reduce inequality and enhance the well-being of individuals and communities in participating nations.

Who Can Apply:
The program is open to citizens of 26 eligible countries, including
Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Egypt, Gabon, Ghana, Guinea-Bissau, Haiti, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Niger, Rwanda, São Tomé and PrÃncipe, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Togo, and Tunisia.
Approximately 600 students will receive scholarships, with at least 51% of recipients being women.
Scholarship Coverage:
The value of the scholarship varies based on the project and level of study. It typically includes tuition, living costs, and travel, but specific benefits are determined by each project.
Eligibility Criteria:
Individuals cannot apply directly to the BCDI 2030 program. Instead, eligibility is determined through collaboration between a Canadian institution and a higher education partner from one of the eligible countries.
Each project partner will launch its own call for applications and handle the selection process based on academic merit and program-specific criteria, in line with BCDI 2030 guidelines.
