Popular comedian and digital content creator Comic Elder has expressed deep appreciation to President Emmerson D. Mnangagwa for honouring a recent promise by gifting him a brand-new Ford Raptor, a gesture announced during the Zimbabwe National Youth Day Awards.
Taking to social media, Comic Elder described the moment as both humbling and inspiring, while extending special recognition to Presidential Advisor Dr. Paul Tempter Tungwarara for his instrumental role in facilitating the milestone.
He praised Dr. Tungwarara for his “unwavering mentorship and commitment to empowering young creatives,” saying his leadership continues to “open pathways for Zimbabwean talent to thrive and represent the nation proudly.”
The acknowledgment also spotlighted Dr. Tungwarara’s wider efforts in national empowerment initiatives. Over the years, he has been actively involved in programmes designed to uplift youth and support war veterans through education, entrepreneurship, and welfare initiatives aligned with Zimbabwe’s development vision.
Comic Elder further commended President Mnangagwa for his consistent encouragement of the arts and youth innovation, describing the gift as “a symbol of faith in the nation’s young people.”
“Your Excellency, this is more than a car — it’s a sign of hope for every creative striving to make a difference,” he wrote, promising to continue promoting Zimbabwe “with integrity, discipline, and excellence.”
He also extended appreciation to the Minister of Youth Empowerment, Development and Vocational Training, Hon. Tinoda Machakaire, for his ongoing advocacy for young people, calling his work “a driving force behind youth transformation.”
The Ford Raptor presentation followed swiftly after the President’s pledge at the Inaugural National Youth Symposium in Harare, where Comic Elder was recognised for his positive influence and contribution to national identity through comedy and digital storytelling.
