Authorities have since launched a national manhunt for a gang of seven masked assailants believed to be responsible for the attack. The suspects reportedly broke into Mutangadura’s home around 11 PM, armed with pistols, hammers, and metal bars.

According to reports, the intruders subdued the security guard, tied him up using shoelaces, and forced him into the house. They then broke down the bedroom door using metal bars and shot Mutangadura in the stomach while he was in bed with his wife.

After ransacking the house, the robbers left both victims unconscious. Emergency services transported the couple to Eden Hospital in Windsor, Ruwa, where Mutangadura was declared dead on arrival. His wife remains hospitalized and is undergoing treatment.

Police are still investigating the full details of the robbery, including the value of items taken during the attack.

Mutangadura was a significant figure in Ruwa’s business community, with a portfolio that included Mutangaz Hideout, Mutangaz Panyama, and the Lisheen Estate.
