Michael Magz Arrested After Allegedly Refusing to Pay InDrive Fare

by Bustop TV News

Zimbabwean artist Michael Magz found himself in hot water this week after he was arrested in Harare for allegedly refusing to pay an InDrive fare following a ride he took with friends.

The incident, which has drawn widespread attention online, has led many to compare the rising star to his former mentor and ex-Samanyanga Records boss, Holy Ten, known for his own fair share of controversy. However, Magz appears to have taken things further by ending up behind bars.

According to reports, the situation escalated when Magz and his two associates not only declined to pay the agreed fare, but also demanded change from the driver—despite not having paid anything. The confrontation reportedly intensified when the trio grabbed the driver’s car keys and allegedly told him to “report wherever you want,” in a defiant outburst.

Following the altercation, the driver immediately went to the police to report the incident. Magz and his companions were arrested and spent three nights in custody before appearing in court on Thursday.

The matter was later resolved outside court after family members of the accused reportedly reached out to the driver, offered apologies, and pleaded for forgiveness. The driver agreed to drop the charges, resulting in the release of Magz and his friends.

The arrest sparked widespread debate on social media after popular broadcaster DJ Ollah 7 shared the story on Facebook. Many Zimbabweans expressed disappointment in Magz’s behavior, accusing him of exploiting his celebrity status.

“If I were the driver, I’d demand $500 for wasting my time. They think fame is money.”
