An 82-year-old man will spend the next 15 years languishing in prison after he r*ped a girl aged 10 who was a neighbour.
Court records, indicated that the tragic incident occurred sometime in September 2024 and the matter came to light in December the same year.
“The young victim was walking alone from her towards a river and the elderly offender, a neighbour was walking in the opposite direction on the same path.
They met on the path in a bushy area and the offender grabbed the victim’s hand and dragged her off the path into the bush. She resisted and tried to pull away but failed,” reads the court papers.

The octogenarian is said to have further dragged her into the bush whilst brandishing a silver knife, ordering her to stop screaming.
“He forced her to the ground, held her down, removed her p_nts and r*ped her. After the r*pe, he threatened to k!ll her if she told anyone.
The victim disclosed the #ssault to her aunt in December 2024 which led to the arrest of the offender,” said the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe.
