The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education has officially opened the online eMAP application platform for 2026 Form One boarding school placements.
The application window will remain open until December 31.
According to the Ministry, applicants can submit requests for up to five boarding schools, with all choices treated equally. The system does not rank preferences; instead, it processes all selections as a list. Successful applicants will receive an SMS notification once a school offers a place. Once a child is accepted at one school, all other pending applications are automatically cancelled, as each student can hold only one boarding placement at a time.
Parents and guardians are reminded that declining an offer is final. Once rejected, the place will be given to another applicant and cannot be reclaimed, meaning there is a risk of the child securing no boarding placement at all.
The Ministry stressed that boarding spaces are limited, urging parents to apply only to schools they are truly willing for their children to attend. It also clarified that it will not be responsible for placements lost due to declined offers, noting that there are sufficient Form One day school places available, providing alternatives for learners whose boarding applications are unsuccessful.
