Vigilante neighbours in Nyamandlovu trailed spoor of a man who sneaked into a house and tried to rape a teenager in the dead of the night.
Acting as demon possessed the man(24) on 19 June 2025 at around 2330 hours, sneaked into the victim’s house (17) who was sleeping with her siblings.
NPA said the man dragged her outside, assaulted her and threatened to kill her if she refused his attempts.
“He even stuffed sand into her mouth to silence her.
“The victim fought back, scratched his face and alerted her young sisters to get help,” said NPA.
The man fled from the scene and alert neighbours trailed his spoor leading to his arrest.
NPA said the man was brought before the courts and sentenced to 18 years imprisonment.
