Walter Chahwanda, a 33-year-old Zimbabwean gospel artist, fashion model, and pastor currently held in remand custody in the UK, is now facing a series of new criminal charges as part of an expanding s@xual offenses investigation led by Merseyside Police.
Chahwanda, founder of Walter Chahwanda Ministries, had already been charged earlier this year with several serious offences, including rape, assault by penetration, and sending explicit images intended to cause alarm or humiliation.
Previously reported incidents detail that Chahwanda—who resides on Plemonstall Court in Chester—was arrested on two occasions: first on 27 February 2024 and again on 13 March 2025, each time in connection with alleged s@xual crimes.
He remains in custody awaiting trial, which is scheduled for September 2025.
In March, he was formally charged with the following 11 offences:
– Rape
– Assault by penetration
-Cyberflashing
-Five counts of engaging in s@xual activity with a female aged 13–15
– S@xual communication with a child
- Causing a child to view s@xual content
-Blackmail
As the investigation progressed, Merseyside Police have now confirmed the addition of ten more charges, believed to involve multiple victims:
– Blackmail
-Two charges of s@xual communication with a child
-Six counts of malicious communication
-Causing a child to witness a s@xual act
Authorities continue their investigations, and law enforcement urges any potential victims or witnesses to come forward.
