Bulawayo police detectives arrested a man in connection with a spate of armed robbery cases committed during March 2025.
Police records indicate the suspect has three other accomplices, and they were pouncing on liquor shops around the city.
Provincial spokesperson Inspector Nomalanga Msebele said the suspects are under investigation for committing a spate of robberies during March 2025.
She said detectives arrested Mhlandla Ncube (36) and are assisting police with investigations. Ncube and his three other accomplices, Lovemore Sibanda (22) and Farai Sibanda (40), both from Cowdray Park, and one identified as Prosper, are still at large.
She said Ncube, on 2 March 2025 at around 2250 hours, with his accomplices, robbed a sports bar before it was closing.
The gang were armed with pistols and a knife.
“They ordered everyone to lie down and went behind, counted and demanded cash.
“They took cash amounting to USD 1 000 and a Techno and Huawei cellphones.
“On the way out, the accused persons took some two bottles of whisky, two bottles of Amarula and two bottles of the best whisky.
“The total value stolen is USD 1 130,” said Inspector Msebele.
