Destiny of Afrika Network Accuses Former Projects Manager of Defying Court Order Through Violence

by Bustop TV News

A legal standoff is escalating in Mutare, where former Destiny of Afrika Network (DANET) Projects Manager Wilson Masokowere is facing serious allegations of defying a High Court directive through intimidation and the use of force.

The dispute follows Masokowere’s dismissal from DANET after he reportedly declined to submit to internal audits and disciplinary procedures. Subsequent to his removal, the High Court of Zimbabwe issued an interdict barring him from accessing DANET offices. However, DANET alleges that Masokowere has openly ignored the order.

According to the organisation, Masokowere allegedly hired armed bouncers who physically blocked a Messenger of Court and a police contingent from entering the premises to enforce the ruling.

“Masokowere and his security personnel prevented the Messenger of Court and five accompanying police officers from accessing our offices,” said Gerald Mabika, DANET’s National Executive Secretary. “He claims to have powerful backing across Manicaland Province and behaves as though he is above the law.”

DANET leadership further accuses Masokowere of exploiting supposed political and institutional connections to evade accountability. The organisation has since called on the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission to investigate allegations of corruption and possible money laundering linked to the former official.

“He presents himself as untouchable and operates like a mafia figure within the province,” a DANET representative said, noting growing concern over the apparent resistance to lawful authority.

Efforts to obtain a response from Masokowere were unsuccessful, as his phone calls went unanswered.

DANET has now indicated it will formally engage the Sheriff of the High Court to enforce the eviction order, as tensions continue to rise amid emerging claims of corruption, abuse of influence, and tribalism surrounding the matter.
