Comedian and musician Freddy “Kapfupi” Manjalima has confirmed that his marriage to Mai Nga has collapsed, barely a year after the two held their highly publicised wedding ceremony in February last year.
The pair, once celebrated for their fairytale union, are now living apart, with close sources indicating that tensions had been building for months before the separation became public.
People close to the couple say the relationship had been strained by a series of unresolved issues. Although full details remain unclear, insiders hint that the marriage had been deteriorating long before rumours of their split surfaced.
Kapfupi acknowledged the separation but said he preferred that Mai Nga be the one to fully explain why she left, suggesting she had her own reasons that she should disclose to the public.
According to the comedian, he strongly hinted that infidelity was a major factor in the collapse of the marriage.
“She is the one who knows why she ran away from me,” he said, adding that he was in possession of what he believes to be evidence of her alleged cheating.
Kapfupi claimed to have the “names and details” of a man he accuses of being involved with his wife.
“I have everything about her cheating, including the name of the boyfriend,” he said. “If it goes to court or if I go live, I will produce the evidence.”
He further alleged that the man in question had threatened to take legal action against him.
Kapfupi also revealed that if the matter ends up in court, he intends to represent himself due to financial limitations.
“To the public I say, I do not need any lawyer. I will stand in court on my own because I am my own lawyer,” he said, insisting he was ready to defend his claims.
Despite growing public interest, Mai Nga has not yet issued any statement regarding the breakup or the allegations raised by her husband.
Kapfupi said he wants her to be the first to openly address the reasons behind the split, stressing that he does not want to speak on her behalf.
As the couple remains silent on many details, the public continues to speculate about what truly caused the collapse of their once-admired marriage.
