In an act of abuse of police privileged powers, a Lupane based top cop raped a subordinate daughter in the same camp they reside together.
Court records, state that the top cop aged (39) was brought before the court on charges of rape and indecent assault of a 16-year-old female juvenile, who is a student and daughter of another police officer.
NPA said,” Allegations are that on 13 June 2025, the accused person forcibly took the complainant into his residence within the police camp where he sexually assaulted her.
“He instructed her to leave and checked to ensure no one saw her departure.
“The minor did not immediately report the incident.”
State papers say prior to the sexual assault, the offender had approached the minor doing her daily chores .
“The accused person approached her, pushed her against a vehicle, and touched her inappropriately before attempting to kiss her.
“The complainant managed to escape but did not report to that incident earlier,” said NPA.
She disclosed the alleged offences on 19 June 2025.
The top cop was remanded to 9 July 2025.
