Presidential Advisor Tungwarara: No to Destroyers, Embrace Unity for a Stronger Zimbabwe

During the Presidential War Veterans Fund launch, Presidential Advisor Paul Tungwarara delivered a powerful message urging Zimbabweans to prioritize development and unity over destructive actions.

His remarks were part of a broader initiative to improve the living conditions of war veterans and honor their sacrifices for the nation.

Tungwarara emphasized that the time for development has arrived, stating, “We don’t want war; we want to build.” His strong condemnation of any actions to undermine the nation’s progress underscored the urgency of fostering a constructive environment.

He called on the youth, the next generation of leaders, to take an active role in ensuring that destructive forces do not threaten Zimbabwe’s future. “We are going to work hard, even in hard times, to develop our country,” he affirmed with conviction.

Launching the Presidential War Veterans Fund represents a significant milestone in the government’s commitment to supporting those who fought for Zimbabwe’s freedom. As part of this initiative, substantial donations, including 500 bicycles, 100 food hampers, and cash allowances of USD $120 each, were handed over to war veterans.

These gestures reflect President Mnangagwa’s unwavering dedication to the veterans who have selflessly served the country.

Cde Mahiya, speaking on behalf of the veterans, echoed Tungwarara’s sentiments, highlighting the immense sacrifices made during the struggle for independence.

“These brave men and women fought not just for independence but for the very future we enjoy today,” he stated, recognizing the historical significance of their contributions.

In addition to immediate support, the government is implementing long-term projects, such as drilling solar-powered boreholes and constructing solar-powered houses for veterans. These initiatives aim to enhance veterans’ living conditions and ensure they receive the respect and support they deserve.

Furthermore, President Mnangagwa has approved a mega poultry project for war veterans, integrating them into the country’s economic framework.

This initiative is expected to empower veterans and allow them to play an active role in Zimbabwe’s development.

Tungwarara’s call for unity and progress is more relevant than ever. He urged Zimbabweans to focus on hard work, dedication, and perseverance, reminding them of the importance of honoring the sacrifices of war veterans.

“We need to build the country using the leadership of President Emmerson Mnangagwa,” he concluded, reinforcing the message that a united effort is essential for a prosperous future.
