Striking council nurses have today (Thursday) blasted the municipal workers negotiating forum for being biased against their union.
This comes after town clerk, Engineer Hosiah Chisango refused to engage in dialogue with the Zimbabwe Urban and Rural Council Nurses Workers’ Union (ZURCNWU) citing that Harare city did not recognize the ‘unregistered’ representative body.
Chisango advised ZURCNWU to join council’s bipartite forum, National Employment Council (NEC) of Harare City workers as expected of municipal worker’s unions but the group has said the forum is partisan.
Municipal nurses downed tools ten days back and have vowed to continue until their salaries are reviewed.
“We went to National Employment Council Harare City and our document is there but they never responded to us as yet.
“We are making frantic efforts but if you check it seems there is nepotism and it is a cartel of the city fathers.
“It appears as if they don’t want to see us they just want those four unions that are already part of the forum
