Government has stated that only those fully vaccinated against Covid-19 will be allowed to attend the Heroes Day and Zimbabwe Defense Forces (ZDF) 2021 commemorations.
Speaking at a post cabinet briefing, Tuesday, Information minister, Monica Mutsvangwa said, “The Heroes Day Commemoration and Zimbabwe Defense Forces Day Celebrations will only be attended by fully vaccinated persons.”
Mutsvangwa also said those attendees will be subjected to Covid-19 testing on the day of the events.
The celebrations will be held virtually in line with the Covid-19 health regulations.
The main Heroes Day Commemorations will take place on the 9th of August at the National Heroes Acre while the ZDF celebrations will be held on the 10th of August at State House in Harare.
The Heroes Day celebrations will be restricted to 200 guests only.
Government also indicated that war veterans, spouses of heroes and heroines and the youth are the only persons allowed to attend the event physically, whilst the rest of the nation will follow on virtual platforms.
