Controversial Norton legislator, Temba Mliswa’s fight with Zimbabwe Republic Police Commissioner General, Godwin Matanga has taken a new twist with the former threatening to drag Matanga before ZACC.
Mliswa who himself has been implicated in numerous corruption cases including allegedly grabbing properties belonging to Paul Westwood. Mliswa said he intends to submit more evidence to ZACC against Matanga for flouting tender procedures .
Writing on his Twitter page, the outspoken legislator said Matanga flouted PRAZ regulations in the purchase and maintenance of police vehicles .
“Good morning and welcome to The Matanga Files Part 2: As you’re well aware, I previously exposed Commissioner General Matanga’s (CGM) flouting of PRAZ regulations in the purchase of police vehicles. The matter has been reported and we await the outcome @ZACConline @praz_zw”
Mliswa further alleged that the police boss has been misusing police force money in procuring and maintaining private vehicles outside the proscribed tender procedures. He also accused the Matanga of negligent driving which has resulted in several accidents.
“Here we are again, part 2 which again involves vehicles, both police and private but this time the repair and maintenance of. It is alleged that CGM is known to often drive inebriated thus being involved in various RTAs that are swept under the rug. What you have here is, early in 2018, CGM was allegedly involved in a RTA while driving a Ford Ranger, licence plate ZRP403R. The accident involved a 3rd party vehicle which was a Hi-Ace truck, registration ACK7111,” he wrote.
Mliswa claimed the commissioner has siphoned thousands of dollars .
He added, “the police vehicle was repaired at the cost of USD13,096.22 at Kingfisher Auto Motors T/A Grand Auto Body Shop whilst the 3rd Party vehicle was repaired at Supreme Panel Beaters to the tune of USD4,990.00 BUT using the reg details of a stationery ZRP Transport Reserve vehicle…registration number ZRP115T. This ZRP vehicle, ZRP115T was NEVER involved in an accident. This accident was NEVER reported. Using the details of the police vehicle, ZRP115T, is clearly criminal and fraudulent.”
Over the past months Mliswa has been claiming to expose the police boss who has remained mum over the allegations.
