Four women who were operating as massage therapists at a Harare lodge have each been fined US$100 after admitting to using online platforms to solicit clients for prostitution.

The women  Sekai Chisango (33), Fadzai Mukucha (20), Faith Pahlani (28), and Liana Demberere (21)  appeared before Harare magistrate Lisa Mutendereki, where they pleaded guilty to violating laws that prohibit the solicitation of prostitution through publicly accessible electronic media.

The matter was brought before the court by the State, represented by Zimbabwe Republic Police officer Museba Umary from the Harare Licence Inspectorate.

According to the prosecution, police received information on 2 February 2026 about a Facebook post and WhatsApp page operating under the name “Closure Perfect Touch Spa.”

The platforms were allegedly being used to advertise massage services that included s*xual acts, complete with a detailed pricing structure.

The advertisements stated that eight women were available around the clock and allowed clients to select their preferred service provider. Promotional images were shared with faces concealed.

An informant contacted the operators via WhatsApp to inquire about the services and location. Acting on the information obtained, undercover officers arranged a meeting and were directed to premises located at 18 Fereday Drive in Eastlea, Harare.

Police raided the lodge at around 3pm, leading to the arrest of the four women. Investigations established that they were voluntarily working at the premises and were engaged in promoting prostitution while presenting themselves as massage therapists.

A search of their mobile phones during the arrest reportedly uncovered explicit images and videos, which the court accepted as supporting evidence of their involvement in illegal solicitation activities.

The court concluded that the accused had unlawfully promoted prostitution by publishing explicit content on social media and messaging platforms accessible to the public.
