Political analysts have scoffed at government statement urging Zimbabwe to emulate China.
This comes after President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s administration in celebrating the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) 100th anniversary said they hoped to learn from the Chinese governing party.
However, analysts who spoke to Bustop TV said government was far from learning from China as they had failed to address corruption.
Political analyst, Frank Chauke said, “the ruling Zanu PF party cannot learn anything from China because China is strict in dealing with corruption. For example in China they kill Corrupt Government officials. However in our scenario, it’s the opposite.”
Another analyst, Malcolm Ziki described the statement as wishful thinking disguised as government lacked the will to do good.
“I actually laughed off the insinuations from our ruling elites.
“The Chinese system is backed by gunuine intentions to develop. They don’t fickle. They love their country. They are patriotic. However for us its self serving. The will to follow the footsteps of China is not there. Statements such as these are just to pretend.”
Writing on his Facebook page prominent journalist cum government critic Hopewell Chin’ono said if Zimbabwean aristocrats emulate the Chinese, ZANU PF would ceaze to exist.
“There won’t be ZANUPF if “Second Republic” learns from China. The whole cabinet will be put on death-row for corruption if they learn from China!”
The Chinese ruling party China Communist Party (CCP) commemorated its 100th anniversary this week. The party which was formed by Mao Zedong has been credited for it’s strong stance against corruption and criminal activities in China.
The Chinese Communist party has been in power for seven decades under which it has made China the world’s second biggest economy.
