Rebecca Yeukai Nguruve (35), a United Kingdom–based nurse, was discovered deceased in a hotel room in Harare on Monday, in a case that police believe may involve suicide.
According to the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), a number of substances were found at the scene, prompting preliminary indications that she may have taken her own life. Investigations are ongoing.
Nguruve had arrived in Zimbabwe from the UK on Sunday and checked into the Jameson Hotel, located in Harare’s central business district. Her body was found the following morning, on 2 February 2026, at approximately 9:00am.
