A 4-year-old girl in Bulawayo has become the country’s youngest COVID 19 patient.
The toddler is case 19 and contact of case 16.
According to the Health ministry, her condition is stable with mild disease.
She is currently self-isolating at home.
Case 19, 20 (10 years), 21 (34 years) and 22(16 years) are all contacts of case 16 and were tested as part of contact tracing for corona virus.
“Case number 19 is a four-year-old girl, while cases number 20, 21 and 22 involve 10 years old, 34 years old and 16-year-old female residents of Bulawayo who were in contacts of the case 16. They were tested by the local Rapid Response Team as part of our intensified surveillance and contact tracing for COVID 19. All are stable, on self-isolation at home and with mild disease,” reads the statement.
