Masvingo – Chiredzi has been classified as a Covid-19 hotspot following a spike in confirmed cases in the district.
In an interview with Bustop TV, Masvingo Covid -19 Taskforce chair, Rogers Irimayi said it was worrying that the residents were still complacent despite the Covid-19 positive cases.
“Chiredzi has been declared a hotspot of Covid -19, and this is highly affecting the district as the worst is being feared as other places have been put under localized lockdown.
“We will continue carrying out awareness campaigns against the spread of Covid -19 in Chiredzi; people still need to know that Covid -19 is still there so we should not relax. It is sad that people still do not take the Covid -19 pandemic seriously, people think Covid -19 is gone,” he said.
