Exam Announced for Attachment Students as UZ Lecturers Continue Strike

There is growing outrage among students at the University of Zimbabwe following the sudden announcement of an examination scheduled for this Friday.

The exam targets third-year students currently on industrial attachment and is believed to be part of a university-wide course.

Students have expressed frustration over the short notice, calling the decision inconsiderate and poorly timed. Many argue that it is unreasonable to expect students on attachment—who are off-campus and often working full-time—to sit for an exam with such limited preparation time.

Adding to the tension, University of Zimbabwe lecturers are currently on strike, demanding a salary increase from US$250 to US$2,500.

The ongoing industrial action has already disrupted academic activities, and students are questioning the logic of holding exams under these strained conditions.

The university has yet to officially respond to the backlash.
