Thrilling cultural explosion, Shoko Festival, Zimbabwe’s longest-running urban culture festival, has taken over Harare and is set to wow Chitungwiza on Saturday.
The festival kicked off on Tuesday with the Hub UnConference, which continued into Wednesday at Moto Republik, featuring international and local speakers discussing emerging trends and topical issues.
Performances will begin today with the Shoko Comedy night, headlined by America’s Got Talent finalist Learnmore Jonasi at the Harare Gardens.
On Friday night, the Harare Gardens will host the Mash Up Night, headlined by Nadia Nakai.
The festival will conclude in Chitungwiza on Saturday with the Peace in the Hood show, featuring artists such as Master H, Natasha Muz, and others.
Themed #BothSidesOfSamora, this year’s festival aims to bridge the social class divide between North and South, uniting diverse backgrounds and cultures.
“Shoko Festival celebrates Zimbabweans making waves internationally, while showcasing powerful new local talent and innovative programming,” said Festival Director Samm Farai Monro, aka Comrade Fatso.
Organized by Magamba Network, Africa’s leading creative and digital media organization, Shoko Festival promotes free expression, cutting-edge urban art, and alternative youth culture.
