Ace Ncobo Resigns from SuperSport Amid R15 Million Fraud Allegations

by Bustop TV News

Andile “Ace” Ncobo, a former FIFA referee and high-ranking football administrator, has resigned from his analyst role at SuperSport TV following serious criminal charges involving fraud and money laundering.

Ncobo and his wife, Salomie Twaise Ncobo, made an appearance at the Bellville Magistrate’s Court on May 5, 2025. The charges stem from a R15 million school infrastructure initiative in the Eastern Cape, allegedly funded through PetroSA’s Corporate Social Investment (CSI) program.

Prosecutors allege the couple used fraudulent paperwork and front companies, including Gangatha Projects, to unlawfully access and redirect funds meant for the construction of schools. Both are facing three counts related to fraud and money laundering.

Ncobo was released on R50,000 bail, while his wife received bail of R30,000. The matter has been postponed to May 29 to allow for continued investigation.

In a statement to the media, Ncobo denied the accusations, calling them “malicious” and asserting that the school projects were completed properly and professionally.

The case has drawn widespread attention, especially within South Africa’s sports and media sectors, where Ncobo was a prominent and well-regarded figure.
