A U.S. court has ruled in favour of actor and singer Tyrese Gibson, officially restoring full ownership of his properties and terminating his child support obligations following his daughter Shayla Somer Gibson’s decision to live with him full-time.

The court decision came shortly after Shayla turned 18 and legally chose to move in with her father.

In a surprising turn of events, she also accused her mother of attempting to alienate her from Tyrese during her formative years.

As a result of the ruling, Tyrese has reportedly reclaimed a mansion previously held by his ex-wife and immediately gifted it to Shayla as a gesture of love and reconciliation. The father-daughter duo is currently travelling together and, according to sources close to the family, “having the best time of their lives.”

The “Fast & Furious” star shared on social media that having Shayla back has made him feel whole again.

“I finally have my Shayla back, and my life feels complete,” he said in an emotional post.

The case has drawn significant attention, with many highlighting the emotional damage caused by parental alienation.

In response to the developments, social media users and family advocates are urging parents to avoid using children as weapons in custody battles.

“To those turning your kids against their mother or father, be warned—you may live to regret it,” read one widely shared post in reaction to the ruling.

While legal obligations may have ended with Shayla reaching adulthood, the case serves as a powerful reminder of the long-term emotional impact of custody disputes on children and families.
