The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education has revoked a list of 5000 teachers who purportedly filled in vacancies for its intented 2020 intake doing rounds on various social media platforms.
“It has come to the attention of the Government of Zimbabwe that social media users have generated a list for the 5000 vacancy posts advertised in 2019 without the responsible Ministry’s knowledge,” reads the statement issued by the Ministry’s Permenant Secretary.
In a statement issued out by the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Thabela. The statement highlighted that the Ministry will take concrete steps to fill the approved 5000 vacant teacher posts.
“As the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education takes concrete step to fill the approved 5000 vacant teacher positions, it has come to our attention that social media users have generated a list of those who have been allegedly successful lists will be issued through the formal channels.
She added that proper channels of communication in regards to the vacancies come from her Office after having sort response from the Public Service Commission.
“The Ministry would like to inform the Nation that the final approved lists will be issued through the formal channels of the Government and Ministry, under the signature of the Permanent Secretary for Primary and Secondary Education advising of the approval by the Public Service Commission.”
She urged the public to desist from getting information from social media platforms.
“Prospective teachers and the Nation at large are urged to disregard the cooked up lists on social media and await the authentic notification for the Ministry does not use social media for such key information sharing.”
