Newly promoted Castle Lager Premier Soccer League side Scottland FC continues to introduce innovative concepts to Zimbabwean football, securing a partnership with Discovery Ambulance Services as part of their membership program.
This collaboration follows a similar agreement with Ecobank, which provides members with access to loan services.
Scottland FC, who have made an impressive start to their debut season, announced the new partnership during a press conference in Harare yesterday. The club also launched five different membership tiers aimed at enhancing fan engagement in local football.
“It’s a privilege to stand before you as we unveil something truly significant for Scottland FC,” said club chairman Tonderai Sakupwanya. “Scottland FC is not just a club—it’s a movement. We aim to transform the football landscape.”
He highlighted the growing fan interest in the club, saying, “We have seen declining attendance at stadiums in recent years, but our games have been drawing large crowds. People are eager to see what Scottland is offering. This initiative is about building a community and a legacy.”
Sakupwanya emphasized that the membership program would offer real value to supporters, unlike traditional models that lacked tangible benefits.
“We want to redefine club membership by providing meaningful perks,” he stated.
The membership packages are divided into Diamond, Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze tiers, each offering different benefits.
The Diamond package, priced at US$2,500 annually, includes loans of up to US$4,000 from Ecobank, 24-hour emergency response from Discovery Ambulance Services, a hospital cash plan, and InnBucks discounts.
The Platinum tier, costing US$1,500 per year, also includes loan access, ambulance services, a funeral cash-back plan, and hospital benefits.
Gold membership is available for US$1,000, Silver for US$500, and Bronze for US$300. The Bronze package, while excluding ambulance services, still offers financial and medical benefits.
Taylor Mvududu, head of operations at Discovery Ambulance Services, described the partnership as a game-changer.
“We are thrilled to be working with Scottland FC to ensure medical inclusion,” he said. “Many fans currently lack medical coverage, and this initiative provides affordable healthcare access nationwide.”
He added, “By simply joining one of these membership tiers, fans can secure emergency medical services. In the event of an accident or emergency, members can call 991, a toll-free, 24/7 emergency response number.”
Ecobank senior executive Mike Dengwane explained how members could access the loan services.
“Scottland supporters across the country can visit their nearest Ecobank branch to apply for loans,” he said. “The club will verify and confirm their membership, facilitating the loan process.”
