POPULAR local hip hop artist Holy Ten has described multi award winning Zimdancehall star Winky D as a snake.
Holy Ten collaborated with the Ninja president on a song called Ibotso from Winky D’s latest album.
The song has been heavily politicised with many concluding it blames government for the long rotten economy and public suffering.
Earlier on Holy Ten said he regretted collaborating with Winky D before a Zanu PF pressure group, the Economic Empowerment Group demanded that Winky D’s songs must be banned in the country claiming he is anti government.
Speaking in an interview Tuesday, Holy Ten said he was manipulated into doing the song despite having signed a contract.
“The man you are talking about (Winky D) is a snake longer than his dreadlocks.
“But even the serpent did not force the apple, which became a global disaster, into Eve’s mouth.
“The serpent spoke and Eve made a decision. So in this case, I am Eve,” Holy Ten said.
As a result, Holy Ten’s remarks have set social media ablaze with many blasting him.
Main opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) spokesperson Fadzai Mahere posted on her official social media accounts saying Holy Ten was scared his Zanu PF bosses were going to take back their freebies.
“Nyoka ndiwe, you agreed, sang along and got your dues until your snake charmer bosses threatened to take away their trinkets,”Mahere said.
Another government critic, Hopewell Chin’ono also said Holy Ten was trying so hard to please Zanu PF.
“Holy must understand that ZANUPF is not stupid. They know he did this song willingly but then regretted and is worried about losing the free stuff.
“They know that he is trying so hard to fix his image with them. Holy is just blowing with the wind, so ZANUPF has no respect for him at all, and they have said it privately.
“They know he is saying these stupid things to pretend like he is on their side, they know that all he is afraid of is losing freebies, they ain’t stupid,” Chinóno said.
Holy Ten still maintains his position that he regretted doing the song with Winky D.
