A Kadoma man nicknamed “Mupostori” walked out of the courts scot-free after a woman had falsely accused him of sexual assault.

The National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPA) said a woman aged 18 appeared before the Kadoma Magistrates’ Court and was charged with deliberately supplying false information to a public authority.

Court records state that the offender reported a rape case against a male victim named “Mupostori” on 9 May 2025 at around 2130 hours.

“However, on 19 May 2025, the offender informed the police that she had not been raped.

“She clarified that she had only been assaulted by the victim after she searched his pockets,” said NPA.

Police then charged her with using unnecessary hate and supplying false information.

The NPA sentenced her to six months, and two months were suspended for five years.

“The remaining four months were suspended on the condition that she perform 140 hours of community service.”
