Ex Wife to Vice President Constantino Chiwenga, Mary Mubaiwa has today been issued with a warrant of arrest after she failed to attend court because of ill health.

Her lawyer Ms Beatrice Mtetwa told magistrate Mr Ngoni Nduna that Mubaiwa was at home and could not come to court. She suggested that they arrange for an ambulance to ferry her from home to court.

Mubaiwa is facing assault, attempted murder and money laundering charges.

The court has since cancelled the against Mary  and has postponed the case to 28th of January 2021 saying there are extra territorial investigations that need to be done in South Africa but have been stalled due to Covid-19 regulations restricting travels.

Mary Mubaiwa will be given time to recover as she cannot fully participate in a trial due to her medical condition says the court, even though the state is not ready.

Meanwhile Magistrate Bianca Makwande has denied Harare mayor Jacob Mafume bail.

Mafume was arrested this past week by members of the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) on charges of criminal abuse of office.

He is set to appear in court on the 14th of December
