Former Highlanders FC striker, Knox Mutizwa Sunday afternoon, scored his 40th goal for Golden Arrows since joining the side in 2017.
Mtizwa’s goal against Marumo Gallants yesterday helped theDurban-based side achieve a comfortably 3-1 victory.
The goal saw the 26-year-old forward reaching a landmark of becoming the new Arrows top goal scorer in the league.
The Bulawayo born striker who joined Arrows from the now defunct Bidvest Wits, surpassed Mabhuti Khanyeza’s record of previously scoring 39 goals donned in the Golden Arrows colours.
Popularly known as the Hitman, Mtizwa finished the whole of last season with 13 goals, tied on with Kaizer Chiefs’ Samir Nurkovic, Amazulu’s Bongani Ntuli and Cape Town City’s Kermit Erasmus.
After yesterday’s win, Arrows are now seated on sixth position with nine points from six games, seven behind log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.
Abafana Besthende’s next assignment is against the currently unbeaten Mamelodi Sundowns on the 20th of October.
