Vice President of the breakaway MDC T led by Dr Khupe Obert Gutu has resigned as Vice President from the party.
Gutu announced his own resignation via Twitter today Saturday morning.
“For purely personal and private reasons, I’m resigning from the MDC-T with immediate effect. Kindly be advised accordingly,” said Gutu.
It is not clear what prompted his resignation.
Gutu has been vocal participating in the Political Actors Dialogue (POLAD), which he had been saying was more effective in addressing Zimbabwe’s challenges than even Parliament.
Social media has been abuzz with many saying Gutu’s resignation from the breakaway MDC T was a non-event.
Political commentator Mr Frank Chauke told this publication that Mr Gutu ‘s resignation from the breakaway MDC T faction is a non-event as his party is not even a force to reckon with in the country’ s major political parties.
