In a significant move, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has published a list of 28 convicted drug barons and suppliers, aiming to curb the growing drug problem in the country.
Drug trafficking and consumption are on the rise in Zimbabwe, posing serious threats to communities. Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyati highlights this concern, stating the police’s commitment to tackling the issue.
The released list includes Taurai Chitsungo, Innocent Zanorehamba, Melody Chikaronga, Keepmore Sajeni, Ultimo Madziwa, Tendai Chikoore, Kudakwashe Mangenge, Tafadzwa Muchemwa, Cathbert Jongwe, Patience Rambi, David Kabvara, Zakaria Mariano, Anyway Ngona, Febbie Machangara, Naison Kabvara, Leeroy Solomon, Lindiwe Marume, Reason Ncube, Pierry Ndlovu, Kwanda Ngwenya, Tatenda Sibanda, Phiwokwakhe Ncube, Tafadzwa Kanemeya, Terrence Nyandoro, Barbra Goto, Emmanuel Majoni, Justice Gutsire and Wilson Myamuka.
Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyati emphasizes that this is an ongoing initiative and the ZRP will continue to identify and expose drug barons nationwide.
“The Zimbabwe Republic Police reiterates that through the National Committee on the Elimination of Drug and Substance Abuse, it will continue naming and shaming drug barons and suppliers in any party of the country,” he said.
The police urge citizens to report suspected drug activity through the National Complaints Desk or WhatsApp. Public cooperation is crucial for dismantling drug networks.
