Zimbabwe Rugby Sevens head coach, Daniel Hondo, has resigned with immediate effect citing personal reasons.
This was confirmed in a statement by the Zimbabwe Rugby Union (ZRU).
“The Zimbabwe Rugby Union wishes to advise that Daniel Tendayi Hondo the Zimbabwe Cheetahs Head Coach has resigned as the Head Coach of the National Team with immediate effect. Hondo cited personal and work commitments as the main reason for his resignation.”
ZRU also revealed that Hondo’s only assignment was the Olympic repechage which was held in Monaco, France in June.
“His only assignment in his tenure as Head Coach was the Olympic repechage where the team had a good showing despite not qualifying for the global showcase. In the interim his assistant coach Graham Kaulback will assume the Head Coach duties and responsibilities.” ZRU said.
The Appointments Committee will soon appoint the substantive Head Coach.
