Boxer, Boika vows to win World title

REIGNING World Boxing Federation Intercontinental Champion, Brendon ‘Boika’ Denes is to face the Namibian World boxing organisation African Welter-Weight Champion, Mikka Shonena in the World Boxing Olympics (WBO) title 12 rounds fight.

The match wil be held on the 12th of December 2020 in Namibia and is promoted by Namibia boxing promotions.

Boika promised to bring the belt home and raise the country’s flag high.

“I am preparing for the match to do all l can to win the match, l am not backing down; l am physically and emotionally fit for the fight. I have been in camp for three weeks now in preparation of the match and am fighting under the Charles Manyuchi Boxing Academy and his manager being Boxer Charles Manyuchi under the mentorship of coach Ali Otto Phiri. If l win this title the next step will be to defend the title.

“Winning is part of my DNA and l say no to failure so l am going to win this game and bring back the title to my country of origin which is Zimbabwe and raise our flag high,” said Boika.

Boika has been receiving support from boxing legend, Charles Manyuchi and his academy.

Namibian boxer, Shonena has a professional record of 15 fights no lose, no draw whilst Boika has recorded a straight eight win, no lose, no draw. He has 17 gold medals he was crowned with at the National Youth Games and other regional competitions.

Boika said his teammate and captain, Evans Hwusavihwevhu is also going for WBO title fight light weight contest against Namibian boxer called, Nkatila Israel.
