Vocal and combative Zanu PF political commissar Victor Matemadanda is battling for his life after falling ill in a suspected case of food poisoning .
In a case that depicts that the gloomy and dirty politics that characterizes ZANU PF , Matemadanda who was officiating at a function in Marondera (Mashonaland East) unexpectedly started sweating profusely and vomiting badly , exhibiting signs of food poisoning.
In a statement to the media ZANU PF Acting Secretary for Information and Publicity, Mr Patrick Chinamasa said.
“Cde Victor Matemadanda’s sudden illness was accompanied by itchiness of eyes, sweating profusely, swelling of the body and vomiting badly, resulting in him rushing for medial attendance. Medical tests are being carried out and the doctors are examining the situation to establish what could have caused the illness,” However an insider in the governing ZANU PF party who refused to be named revealed that all is not well in the former liberation movement .
“You are aware of the ongoing DCC elections and the tense atmosphere that the exercise has created . The PC is the focal point man to the process hence knives are out to consume him again . ”
Pressed on whether Matemadanda was poisoned , the bigwig had this to say ” With the level of infighting that is consuming the party , food poisoning cannot be ruled out ”
Reports of factionalism have gathered traction with , the ongoing Zanu PF district coordinating committee DCC election reportedly leaving the party deeply divided.
