Bindura- Prophet Sane Chibwiya (29) of Christ Ministries appeared in court on Tuesday following allegations of indecently assaulting a female congregant in November last year.
Chibwiya was not asked to plead guilty when he appeared before Bindura Magistrate, Tinashe Ndokera.
Allegations according to the State represented by Carson Kundiona are that on the 9th of November 2020 Chibwiya at around 2200 hours called the complainant Glenda Muranda asking her to come and pick him from Progress Shopping Centre in Chiwaridzo to her place.
Whilst at Muranda’s place, the prophet prayed for her business and general health and said he was leaving.
The complainant offered to drive him to his home. Along the way, the complainant who was driving the car parked so they could discuss her problems.
In the process of narrating her ordeals, the accused allegedly pressed his hands into her bra and fondled her breasts and swiftly slipped his other hand into her pants towards her privates.
The complainant managed to escape and ran back home, leaving the accused with her car. The following day, she made a police report leading to Chibwiya’s arrest
The accused was remanded out of custody until 29 July.
