A heartless Chivhu man (18) lured two juveniles under the pretence of asking them to assist him while he was fishing.
Court records indicate that the offender raped the victim on 28 April 2025.
The National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe said on the very day the offender, at around 1700 hours, demanded two juveniles look for a log to connect his fishing net.
“When they refused, the offender, acting out of spite, grabbed the victim’s hand tightly and dragged her into a nearby bush.
“Her cousin ran home to seek help. The offender then pinned her, removed her underwear, and raped her once and fled,” said NPA.
Fortunately, a reactive uncle rushed to the scene where her niece narrated the events.
A police report was made, and the offender was arrested.
He appeared before a Chivhu Magistrates’ Court and was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
