In a significant bust, Rusape detectives nabbed two dagga couriers who were found in possession of over 300 kilograms of the illegal drug.
National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the duo were arrested on 1 June 2025.
“Acting on a tip, police arrested Collin Manyara (30) and James Bvekerwa (34) at Manyara village.
“They were in possession of two 90-kilogram and eight 50-kilogram sacks of dagga,” said Commissioner Nyathi.
In a related matter, Beitbridge police nabbed a codeine smuggler with over 1,000 bottles of the illegal cough syrup.
“Detectives arrested a VW Sprinter vehicle driver, Chirandza Terrence (42), in connection with unlawful possession of 452 X 100 milliliters bottles of Broncleer cough syrup and 621 X 100 milliliters bottles of Astra Pain cough syrup,” he said.
