As the MDC drama takes a crescendo following last week’s Supreme Court landmark ruling questions have been raised concerning the fate of both factions.
While indications are pointing that the internal fights will be solved by the court of public opinion there are uncertainties on the fate of Harvest House and legislators.
The Nelson Chamisa led faction recently reported that it still controls the Harvest House.
MDC Alliance Secretary-General Chalton Hwende reported that out of the 111 MDC MPs and Senators, it was only Douglas Mwonzora and Morgen Komichi who were rallying behind Thokozani Khupe.
A letter obtained by this publication showed that MDC Alliance Mps were signing affidavits declaring their allegiance to the MDC Alliance, and Nelson Chamisa.
Political analyst, Pedzisayi Ruhanya, “When its comes to the control of voluntary organisations such as political parties, the people, the masses that constitute political parties have the ultimate and final say as Mwonzora and Komichi have realised. Any other postulates are daydreams. Hon Khupe experienced already”
Political analyst Rodric Fayayo described Mwonzora and Komichi as power hungry individuals.
“Can’t wait to see the fight for pwer between 3 power mongers. Who will be the President in that formation”.
Political analyst Eldred Masungure likened the situation entangling MDC members of parliament to the Kudzai Chipanga scenario.
“Even Kudzi Chipanga did the same in response to Chiwenga’s 13 November 2017 statement, only to wear an apolo jersey few days after. My advice is MDC mps talk than tweet!”
